I’m currently on the road taking care of family matters, but I wanted to share with you this video I made in 2019 as part of a three-part series, because the events of the past few days in the Nord have brought it to the forefront of my mind, so I’m re-uploading it for your consideration. In this video, I focus on how famous authors from the 1800s and 1900s were used to shape the new historical narrative in our collective minds. Many of these authors were required to read in high school English classes, and many of their books were made into movies as well. Can you feel it? It’s an apple crumble with a (good) touch of berries. This dessert can be found on Queen of pies, the quaint, sweet cafe that is tucked between the shops along Dame Street, which is like the ‘yellow brick road’ to Trinity College Dublin. This street leads directly to the college, promising something glorious at the end, and offering treats and intrigue to complement your trip along the way, including an abundance of coffee and tea. And, by the way, for the coffee that a lot of us can’t resist (myself included), there is a Starbucks on this street (and although it’s a chain and not unique to Dublin or Ireland, j thought that would be worth mentioning).
